Property Preparation For Flooding

When you are a property owner you have a lot of responsibility on your hands... let alone, you need to find ways to protect your property from mother nature.
Its always a good idea to follow up with your insurance agent to go over certain coverage's to make sure you are ready for whatever happens. Contact your insurance so you know what flood insurance plans and needs that best fit your situation.
Here are some tips on preventing damage to your property if a flood occurs...
- Clear debris from curbside gutters, drains in yards, driveways, and inspect roofs to check for loose tiles, holes, or other signs of trouble.
- Clear and place sandbags in problem areas if an area has been affected by wildfire in the past, or if you've been having flooding problems around a certain area of your property.
- Inspect storm drains before and after heavy rainfall. If blocked, contact your City Public Works Department for help.
