There are many ways to prevent the possibility of a fire outbreak. Not only would you save time & money while preventing a disastrous fire, but you would also gain the knowledge needed to show others how to prevent one as well. Staying informed about how or why fires occur could be the bridge between life & death. There should always be some sort of emergency readiness plan in place for every home or business for the very reason of preventing fatal outcomes or at the very least, minimizing death at all possible costs. The list provided are just a few of the ways you can help prevent a fire, as always, one should do their own research and prepare a plan that best suits each home or business.
Prevention Checklist:
- Cooking/Grilling when in use should never be left unattended
- Distance any & all flammable objects from a fire source (at least 3 ft away)
- Smoking should be done outdoors and in an open area
- Fire starters such as matches or lighters should be securely stored away from small children to prevent accidental damages
- Test & inspect all smoke alarms
The list details just a few of the steps you can take towards fire prevention. As always, each person is encouraged to do their own research and create a plan that best fits each situation. The best approach to a fire emergency is to have a plan in place for that specific situation.
