In California, the risks of unpredictable fires is always running high. The hot & dry climate that remains year round adds fuel to the probability of large fires arising. Depending on location, evacuations may be needed to prevent the loss of life. Death, property loss, & complete loss are risks associated with fire storms that run dangerously close to neighborhoods. The following list will briefly list some helpful steps to prevent severe damages when & if such an event should arise.
- Close off home/rooms from outside air
- Create list of emergency contacts
- Know the location of the nearest evacuation shelters
- Keep track of fire updates & events nearby
- Keep all important documents in your possession if possible
