What damages can a rain storm cause my home or business & how can I decrease the amount of damages?

Rain storms will usually have some type of weather warning before they even come to pass which is a great way to stay one step ahead of them. However, a complete water damage prevention scenario might not be possible. Although there may be some minor damages even if preparation is thoroughly planned, it is always best to have emergency contacts listed & ready for use. 

There are some steps to take that may be helpful to prevent further damages. The following is a list that may help touch up on some, not all, safety measures you can take. Each list may be different & may or may not suit a specific household or business. 

• Locate & stop water intrusion (if possible)
• Shutting off any electrical components/sources in damaged area
• Remove important documents or items from damaged area
• Call insurance agent to begin claim process
